Brad Robinson and Darren De Silva are two undeniable pillars of the MMA scene in Singapore.

If you google Brad Robinson, you’ll come across one of the most inspirational stories of radical weight loss and lifestyle change in the history of the sport. Having ballooned up to 320 pounds in 2008 as a result of his corporate lifestyle, Brad took the next few years to completely re-write his life.

Immersing himself in martial arts and healthy living, Brad Robinson would fight his first professional MMA bout a mere 3 years later. He is now signed to ONE Championship and has begun a successful franchise of high intensity interval training gyms known as Ritual.

Brad is now living a balanced life as a fighter and entrepreneur. The man behind his success in mixed martial arts is none other than Darren De Silva.

Darren is the founder of Fight G, the first MMA gym established in Singapore, and was instrumental in the process of transformation that Brad Robinson needed to achieve in order to reach his objectives.

Put this into perspective: From weighing 320 pounds, Brad Robinson has fought in 4 weightclasses, from heavyweight to welterweight, the weight at which he now competes.

Brad Robinson and Darren De Silva join us on this episode to discuss a crazy variety of topics from the future of boxing, to the growth of MMA in South East Asia, HIT Training vs. Cross Fit, and why we all need to shut off our damn portable devices in the evening to get some well needed sleep!

If you’re in Singapore, make sure you check out Fight G for all your martial arts training needs, and Ritual gym for your strength and conditioning!

When it comes to combat sports and martial arts in Singapore, Arvind Lalwani is a local legend. As the founder of one of the cities premier MMA gyms, Juggernaut Fight Club, Arvind has been active in the community since 2006.

When Arvind Lalwani launched Juggernaut FC in 2011, his goal was to launch the most complete training facility possible.

Having recently relaunched the facility at a new, larger location at the start of May, Juggernaut Fight Club is now a one-stop shop for anyone in Singapore looking to get all their martial arts and fitness training in one convenient place.

While Juggernaut FC is the central hub of Arvind Lalwani’s operations, his history and involvement within the martial arts community in Singapore runs very deep.

As a competitor, Arvind has successfully participated in a large variety of disciplines: boxing, wrestling, brazilian jiujitsu and mixed martial arts.

As a trainer, not only is Arvind the head coach at Juggernaut FC, he’s also the coach of the Singapore National Boxing Team.

Finally, as a promoter, he actively runs Gods Fighting Championship, a professional MMA league and its amateur MMA counterpart, Singapore Fighting Championships.

All that being said, it’s pretty safe to say that Arvind Lalwani’s perspective on martial arts in the South East Asian area is one routed in passion, education and experience!

Join us for our milestone 50th podcast episode, as Arvind Lalwani joins us for a wide ranging conversation about the state of MMA in Singapore, his thoughts on the Mayweather / Pacquiao fight, the future of boxing, his potential return to active competition, and the group of incredible fighters and coaches that make Juggernaut Fight Club one of the most unique training facilities in the region!

The South East Asia MMA scene is full of personalities, but there’s no one quite like Jon Nutt. As the founder of Thailand’s one and only MMA promotion, Jon has been a pioneer in the movement of martial arts in the area for ages.

Aware of the challenges involved in establishing a mixed martial arts promotion in a country anchored in the tradition of muay thai, Jon Nutt has been taking his time building and polishing his brand.

On the heels of a successful Full Metal Dojo 5 event back in May, Jon has just announced that Full Metal Dojo 6 will take place in Bangkok at Club Insanity on August 22nd and it’s already shaping up to be an amazing event.

In between these two events, Jon has kept very busy, being heavily involved with multiple martial arts organizations such as the Tune Talk MMArr event that took place on a cruise ship, the frequent MIMMA events in Malaysia and the IMMAF initiative that took place at the UFC 189 International Fight Week in Las Vegas.

With FMD 7 and 8 already lined up for October 31st and December 12th, 2015 is turning out to be the biggest and most successful year for Full Metal Dojo and Jon has some pretty wild ideas that he’s implementing for all 3 and beyond.

Join us for today’s podcast episode as Jon Nutt breaks down the official matchups and sponsors for Full Metal Dojo 6 and sheds some light with his unique perspective on all things going down right now in the ever-evolving MMA scene in South East Asia!

In case you missed it, make sure you check out our first interview we ran with Jon Nutt earlier this year right HERE.

AKA Thailand has made its name through the impeccable reputation of its founder, former UFC welterweight and middleweight fighter Mike “Quick” Swick.

While the remainder of the sponsored roster is comprised primarily of male fighters, two standouts on the squad are Genah Fabian and Gemma "The Bull" Pike.

With women now increasingly present and respected in martial arts, Genah Fabian and Gemma Pike are riding the wave and doing whatever it takes to leave their mark in a very competitive environment.

Hailing from New Zealand and a former professional rower with Olympic aspirations, Genah Fabian began training and fighting muay thai in Thailand in 2012 and hasn’t looked back since.

Starting her career at Tiger Muay Thai, Genah joined the team at AKA Thailand nearly a year ago as one of their sponsored fighters. She also functions as a strength and conditioning coach, a role she excels at thanks to her extensive background in fitness as a cross fit trainer.

With her intimidating height and physique, finding suitable opponents for Genah Fabian hasn’t been easy. However the patience and hard work has paid off: Genah Fabian will finally be making her long-awaited MMA debut on August 22, a sport she has truly only been practicing in all its complexity since the beginning of the year.

Her friend and training partner Gemma Pike has had an equally impressive journey. A proud Australian from New South Wales, Gemma also has a versatile athletic background, excelling at track and field, gymnastics and cross country racing before trying her hand at muay thai back in 2010 in Melbourne.

After 4 amateur fights, Gemma made her pro muay thai debut in September of 2013 and since January 2014 has been training and fighting full time in Thailand, compiling a solid record of 13-6.

Having also tried her hand at MMA, Gemma Pike is firmly intent on becoming a force in muay thai and sought out sponsorship from AKA Thailand for the high quality of the management, facilities and great training partners.

Join us for this great conversation with Genah Fabian and Gemma Pike, both incredible competitors and inspirations for the next wave of women hoping to leave their impression in the world of martial arts!

Aurora LZ Lauzeral (aka @aurora_lz_fit) is part of a new breed of social media phenomenon.

As a fitness, martial arts and motivational icon, Aurora LZ has achieved a remarkable amount of international popularity by posting images of her lifestyle on Instagram. Through the use of this photo-based platform, Aurora has acquired an impressive following of nearly half a million fans that enthusiastically interact with her on a daily basis.

The reasons for Aurora LZ’s popularity are numerous, the most obvious one being her stunning physique. As a personal trainer and professional fighter, Aurora has spent years putting her body through a daily regimen of intense exercise and the results speak for themselves.

To say that she’s a lean, mean fighting machine is probably understatement of the year. Tall, leggy and statuesque, Aurora leaves a jaw-dropping impression on anyone who lays eyes on her.

However, beyond the body and the tropical beauty of Thailand that she promotes heavily in her photography, Aurora LZ truly connects and resonates with so many people because of her story and message.

10 years ago, Aurora looked and felt much different. Suffering from bulimia and anorexia, Aurora was slowly dying from severe malnutrition and the destructive affects of these eating disorders. Through the help of a friend, Aurora was able to achieve a breakthrough, regain her sense of self-esteem and begin a 3 year process of physical and emotional recovery.

As this healing process completed, Aurora LZ discovered fitness and martial arts and became instantly enamored with both. With the objective of becoming a professional fighter burning within her, she left her life in Europe for Thailand and began training martial arts at Tiger Muay Thai, where she also became one of their most popular fitness trainers.

For an imposing and intimidating woman of Aurora’s height and size, finding opponents has been extremely difficult. To this day, she has yet to fulfill her goal of competing in mixed martial arts, but has put together a solid record of muay thai fights.

Now back in Europe, Aurora is in the midst of defining the next phase of her career and doing whatever it takes to reach her goal of fighting in MMA.

Join us as Aurora LZ shares her impressive, inspiring and continuous journey of suffering, struggle and success in the world of martial arts!

Isaac Kesington, better known as Genghis Con, has been making riveting MMA hilight reels and documentaries for the past decade.

Having become a fan of mixed martial arts while playing football in college, Genghis began editing and creating hilight reels of some of the sports most exciting fighters in an attempt to convince his friends and family to become fans as well.

In a short amount of time, Genghis Con’s epic hilight reels became widely recognized on the underground MMA scene and soon after he began creating elaborate fighter documentaries.

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Genghis Khan began creating strong ties with fighters at American Top Team, one of the top training camps in the business. He quickly made a name for himself documenting the training and lives of ATT standouts such as Raphael Assuncao, Douglas Lima and Roan Carneiro.

The informal nature of the process allowed Genghis to integrate closely with his subject matter and deliver an unprecedented level of insight into the lives of these unique athletes.

With his foot firmly in the door, Genghis proceeded to create one of his most successful projects to date, the “Miami Hustle” series, which followed the lives of MMA stars JZ Cavalcante, Jorge Masvidal, Alexis Vila and Jorge Santiago.

Since then Genghis Con has continued to take on increasingly ambitious projects that have been gaining impressive levels of notoriety, the latest of which is season 2 of the popular YouTube series “Phuket Dreaming”. Shot on location in Phuket, Thailand, the show is a window into the world of professional fighters training at Phuket Top Team.

One of the most widely recognized MMA gyms in the area, Phuket Top Team has provided the training camps for a who’s who of world class talent over the years including Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, Thiago Tavares, Alistair Overeem and Tito Ortiz.

Not only is the training exceptional, but so is the lifestyle surrounding the camp, and the “‘Phuket Dreaming” series does a fantastic job at capturing the essence of island living in the area.

Join us for this exclusive conversation with Genghis Con as we dig into his past as a filmmaker, the trials and tribulations of shooting “Phuket Dreaming” and his plans to leave a lasting legacy well beyond his contributions to the sport of MMA!

Vaughan Lee has had a roller coaster of a UFC career. Alternating wins and losses in all 7 of his appearances, Lee’s 14-10-1 record only tells a small portion of his story in martial arts.

Upon closer inspection, Vaughan Lee has quietly racked up one of the most impressive list of opponents in the bantamweight division: fan favorites Brad Pickett and Nam Phan, Japanese legend Kid Yamamoto, top contenders Cris Cariaso and Raphael Assuncao and of course, current UFC Bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw.

Following the first true KO loss of his career in his last fight against Iuri Alcantara, the 32 year old native of Birmingham, England has found himself at a cross roads. Struggling to regain his hunger to fight, Vaughan Lee has embarked on a pilgrimage of sorts, training at a number of martial arts training facilities.

Enter Phuket Top Team where Lee has spent several months in Thailand honing his skills in the company of exceptional warriors the likes of Thiago Tavares, Ian Entwistle, Rob Lisita and Rany Saadeh.

A devout student of the game and avid fan of Bruce Lee, Vaughan Lee’s fighting style is an interesting mix of discipline and explosiveness.

With 15 of his fights ending in the first round, Lee follows in the footsteps of other fan favorites like Forrest Griffin or Chris Leben who need to “take a shot to wake up”. Win or lose, it makes for compelling spectacle, hence Lee’s longevity in the sport.

Mike Swick hasn’t fought in two and a half years, but don’t get it twisted. Unlike many foreigners in Thailand, Mike hasn’t been there on holidays taking in the sun and the scenery. On the contrary, even though he’s known as “Quick”, he’s been taking all the time necessary to build his dream gym: AKA Thailand.

As part of the world-famous American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, Mike has been a mainstay of the UFC’s middleweight and welterweight divisions, always hovering within arms reach of a title shot.

Mike Swick’s absence from active competition is not just the result of his entrepreneurial aspirations. For years Mike has been struggling with a debilitating digestive condition that has only recently been properly diagnosed and treated.

Despite the lengthy setback, Mike Swick is now healthy, laser focused and on the cusp of a defining life moment: training through his greatest fight camp ever and making his long-awaited return to the Octagon at UFC 189.

With his veteran experience as a headlining fighter at one of the worlds best gyms and his experience training in Thailand, Mike brings an undeniable work ethic and expertise to the creation and direction of AKA Thailand. But as with any major business endeavor, there are numerous financial and administrative pitfalls to contend with: enter Blair Speers, co-owner and chairman of AKA Thailand.

A highly successful entrepreneur who has made his home in Phuket for over 20 years, Blair Speers has been obsessed with mixed martial arts from before it even began at UFC 1 in 1993.

A decorated Canadian national level wrestler himself, Blair has been immersed in combat sports since his youth and follows the intricacies of the sport fanatically. He always dreamed of being involved in some facet of the business of MMA but was either busy with other projects or never presented with the right opportunity.

Incidentally, he’s also a huge fan of The Ultimate Fighter Season 1 where he discovered AKA standouts Mike Swick and Josh Koscheck, much like the rest of the MMA world.

Having taken note of these fighters and the AKA camp as a whole, fate would have it that that Blair Speers would be introduced to Mike Swick in 2012. A friendship quickly developed and once the plans for AKA Thailand were laid out, it became apparent that the two possessed perfectly complimenting skill sets to bring the dream to life.

Join us for this exclusive podcast where Mike Swick and Blair Speers elaborate in depth about how they came together to create the most ambitious MMA facility in Thailand, and how Mike has overcome a series of daunting challenges to re-emerge and make his first step back towards a title shot in the ferocious Welterweight division of the UFC on July 11th!

Victor Cui is a true thought leader in the industry of mixed martial arts.

As an avid combat sports enthusiast with over 20 years experience in sports media, Victor launched the ONE Championship promotion in 2011 with a single goal in mind: to create the most powerful sports media property in Asia.

Less than 4 years later, ONE Championship events are broadcast live in 70 countries and reach over a billion viewers. With over 90% of the Asian market share, ONE Championship is only getting warmed up.

As a Canadian of Chinese and Filipino descent, Victor Cui’s philosophies, goals and aspirations for ONE Championship and its fighters differ wildly from other major MMA promotions.

With the mass following of sports in Asia still in its infancy, sports fans in the region are hungry for something to call their own and as Victor so aptly puts it, what is more Asian than martial arts?

ONE carefully combines stellar production values, a distinctly Asian rule set in the tradition of Pride FC and a fan-friendly roster of global MMA champions and rising regional talent. By doing so, ONE is zeroing in on the sweet spot of becoming a global powerhouse while sticking firmly to its Asian roots.

As part of these ambitious objectives, Victor Cui has surrounded himself with a team of world class professionals. Among them are two names MMA fans will quickly recognize: Matt Hume and Rich Franklin.

As VP of Operations and Matchmaker, Matt Hume brings a wealth of invaluable experience from his years working as Rule Director and Official Trainer for both Pride FC and Dream.

And as Head Trainer of AMC Pankration, Matt continues to coach a multitude of dominant fighters (such as UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson and ONE bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes), ensuring that his finger is constantly on the pulse of the industry, worldwide.

As a highly respected former UFC champion, Vice President Rich Franklin is a legend and devoted ambassador of the sport. With Victor Cui widely considered the busiest man in Asian MMA, Franklin is the perfect counterpart to contribute with the PR and global business development aspirations of the ONE brand.

With the infrastructure for success firmly in place, Victor Cui is now empowered to deliver on ONE’s primary objective: creating a new wave of Asian sports heroes through a powerful media outlet that can turn them into international stars.

Recorded on May 1st, a day before the infamous Mayweather / Pacquiao fight, join us for this fascinating conversation with Victor Cui as we cover the entire spectrum of his vision for ONE Championship and beyond. No question goes unasked and no stone goes unturned in what can be considered our most thought provoking podcast to date!

Nick Hein is far from your typical UFC Fighter. For starters, he’s from Germany, a country that only counts a handful of notable MMA representatives. Additionally, he’s a former federal police officer, who was on the brink of becoming an Olympian as part of the national Judo team. Again, not the most common combat sport background for a top level mixed martial artist.

After having his Olympic dreams shattered by a debilitating injury, Nick Hein reassessed his objectives, abandoned Judo and dedicated himself to MMA in 2008. With an unrelenting drive to succeed and excel, Hein struggled to find a training environment that matched the Olympic conditions he was used to as a national level Judoka.

Fast forward to 2015, with a professional record of 11-2 and 2 fights in the UFC on his resume, Nick Hein is the latest addition to the surging Tiger Muay Thai "Team Banter" based in Phuket, Thailand. Needless to say, his lack of quality training and instruction is an issue of the past.

With a great camp behind him, Nick Hein also made the difficult decision to leave the financial comfort of his career as a federal police sergeant to dedicate himself 100% to his goal of becoming a UFC champion.

Listening to the story of Nick Hein one can only feel inspired, as it would appear his enthusiasm, initiative and positive attitude seemingly manipulate the universe in his favor. Not only has he achieved acclaim though his MMA career, he’s also a successful actor, who’s never taken an acting lesson!

And here’s a little piece of UFC trivia for you: his brother in law is fellow UFC lightweight Drew Dober…the man Nick Hein faced and fought to a bloody decision in his UFC debut!

Well spoken and highly marketable, the pressure is on for Nick Hein to succeed in his third UFC fight on June 20th at UFC Berlin in his native country of Germany.

Check out today’s podcast to hear from the man himself how he plans to make the most of this great opportunity!

Editor’s Note: this podcast was recorded prior to the official announcement of Nick Hein’s June 20th bout and as such his opponent was not yet determined.

Huge thanks to photographer extraordinaire Jeff Sainlar for the photos! Make sure you check out his mini-documentary on Nick Hein below.

<itunes:summary>Nick Hein is far from your typical UFC Fighter.

Marcel Gaines knew at a very early age that he was different. Fascinated by the athletic abilities of the human body, he discovered he was faster, stronger and more precise than others.

While both of his parents were athletically gifted, it’s actually his mother that taught him how to throw his first punch. With his father leaving the family when Marcel was only 5, he was thrust into a protective role that required him to put his gifts and newfound skills to frequent use.

Born in Durban, South Africa but raised in Capetown, Marcel Gaines quickly discovered the grittier side of life and swore to protect his family by any means necessary.

After a grueling initiation to Shaolin Kung Fu at the age of 16, Marcel ended up traveling to England at age 18 and while working in construction discovered Muay Thai boxing. A true turning point in his life, the discovery that he had 8 limbs to strike with created an obsession and quest for personal excellence that drives Marcel to this day.

With a great base of Muay Thai from his experience training in Plymouth, England, Marcel Gaines returned back to South Africa at age 21. While continuing to pursue his academic education, Marcel basically wiped out the Muay Thai competition in the country, literally running out of opponents willing to fight him.

Eager to see how he would fare against international competition, Marcel left life as he knew it and decided to begin a pro career in Thailand in 2012. Training at the legendary Tiger Muay Thai gym in Phuket, Marcel was quickly singled out as a unique specimen. After a humbling phase of initiation, Marcel started his reign of terror with an impeccable 10-0 streak with 9 straight knockouts.

But as the saying goes, “live by the sword, die by the sword”. Between a grueling routine of frequent fights and incessant hard-nosed training, the injuries began to take their toll. The multitude of concussions led to disturbing vision and memory issues. And about 9 months ago, it culminated in a life threatening brain and eye hemorrhage, in an account that absolutely has to be heard to be believed.

Defying the odds, the doctors and the advice of family and friends, Marcel painstakingly recovered and hesitantly returned to the ring. And in a most ironic turn of events, he came back as an even better fighter with new twists to his game that defy rational thinking!

Marcel Gaines believes Muay Thai is a game of inches, percentages and lines. And the line of self-discovery and risk is the only way forward.

EP040 - We’re joined by legendary striking coach Roberto Flamingo & Polish fighter Piotr Hallman as they prepare for his fight at UFC Berlin in June 20th.
With the current international expansion of the UFC, the promotion is discovering new talent all over the globe. The first UFC event in Poland recently took place in Krakow and was a resounding success. One of the top fighters in the country is lightweight contender Piotr Hallman.

Currently 2-2 in the UFC, Piotr has had big fights with Yves Edwards, Gleison Tibau and top 10 lightweight Al Ianquinta. Win or lose, Piotr is known for his exciting well-rounded style that generally result in one of two things: a quick first round finish or a 3 round “Fight of the Night” performance. With a record of 15-3, 7 knockouts, 7 submission and 8 first round stoppages, the numbers don’t lie.
Firmly aware of the deep level of talent in the UFC’s lightweight division, Piotr Hallman has recently enlisted the services of one of the most accomplished striking coaches in the business, Roberto Flamingo.

Flamingo has trained one of the most jaw-dropping array of fighters in the industry: Gilbert Yvel, Tyrone Spong, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Eddie Alvarez, Fedor Emelianenko, Anthony Johnson, Gegard Mousassi, Ben Henderson…the list of all-star talent is virtually endless. Few trainers can lay claim to having helped forge the amount of success that Flamingo has.
Of particular note, Roberto Flamingo is one of the driving forces behind the success of UFC heavyweight standout Alistair Overeem. Roberto was instrumental in the incredible run of victories that led Overeem to becoming champion in K-1, Dream and Strikeforce simultaneously.

As a longtime friend, coach and training partner of former UFC fighter James McSweeney, Roberto and Piotr Hallman have joined James at his home base of Tiger Muay Thai in preparation for Piotr’s next fight at UFC Berlin on June 20th.
Piotr is set to face off against 11-1 American Top Team product Magomed Mustafaev who will be making his UFC debut. With all of 11 wins coming via stoppage, it’s virtually guaranteed that the bout between Mustafaev and Piotr Hallman will result in fireworks.

Â

Flamingo has trained one of the most jaw-dropping array of fighters in the industry: Gilbert Yvel, Tyrone Spong, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Eddie Alvarez, Fedor Emelianenko, Anthony Johnson, Gegard Mousassi, Ben Henderson…the list of all-star talent is virtually endless. Few trainers can lay claim to having helped forge the amount of success that Flamingo has.

Â

Of particular note, Roberto Flamingo is one of the driving forces behind the success of UFC heavyweight standout Alistair Overeem. Roberto was instrumental in the incredible run of victories that led Overeem to becoming champion in K-1, Dream and Strikeforce simultaneously.

Â

As a longtime friend, coach and training partner of former UFC fighter James McSweeney, Roberto and Piotr Hallmann have joined James at his home base of Tiger Muay Thai in preparation for Piotr’s next fight at UFC Berlin on June 20th.

Â

Piotr is set to face off against 11-1 American Top Team product Magomed Mustafaev who will be making his UFC debut. With all of 11 wins coming via stoppage, it’s virtually guaranteed that the bout between Mustafaev and Piotr Hallmann will result in fireworks.

With a record of 15-3, 7 knockouts, 7 submission and 8 first round stoppages, the numbers don’t lie.

With charisma for days, an exceptional work ethic and a ferocious fighting style, it wasn’t long before Tarek found himself in a training camp capable of matching his ambitions.
Enter Tiger Muay Thai. With his last 3 fights taking place under the Tiger Muay Thai banner, Tarek’s ground skills have gone through the roof and he’s now arguably considered the best grappler in the promotion.

“Ruthless” Rob Lisita is on a singular mission: to win the One Championship Featherweight Title. The road to this mission begins on May 22nd at the aptly named One: “Warrior’s Quest” event in Singapore. And it is a path rife with risk, challenge and opportunity.

Rob will be facing one of his stiffest challenges yet in Timofey Nastyukhin, a Russian fighter on a 8 fight win streak with all victories coming within the first round via stoppage. No stranger to first round finishes, Rob Lisita has 6 of his own, leading most industry analysts to believe that this will be the most explosive and exciting bout on a card that is packed with electrifying matchups.

After an incredible ONE debut that resulted in him earning a 28 second KO victory over Yusuke Kawanago, Rob suffered a pair of setbacks in his next two fights. However, with the evolving landscape of the division, Rob Lisita is in a position to get right back on track with a win on Friday.

Acutely aware of the situation and the opportunity ahead of him, Lisita has buckled down with his teammates at Phuket Top Team to shore up any holes in his game and fine tune the impressive array of offensive tools that have secured him 4 knockouts and 7 submissions among his 14 wins.

Among this list of impressive teammates, which include UFC standouts Ian Entwistle, Thiago Tavares and Vaughan Lee, is longtime friend and training partner Josh “Major” Payne.

Hailing from New South Wales, Australia, both Rob Lisita and Josh Payne began their MMA careers in their home country. However, amidst the limitations and politics, they were compelled to test their mettle against international competition which resulted in them training in Phuket, Thailand, a hot bed of high-level MMA training facilities and partners.

In recent years, Rob Lisita has remained consistently active and earned his headlining status at ONE Championship events through his unique combination of devastating victories, do or die fighting style, charisma and bravado.

On the flip side, Josh recently returned from a 3 year hiatus to claim a victory in the first round of the “Brace for War” featherweight tournament and will be returning to action in the late summer for the semi-finals.

Since the arrival of ONE Championship in 2011, the Singapore-based promotion has grown into the leading MMA promotion in Asia. This has resulted in the emergence of many exciting fighters living and training in the area. Two of those fighters are Stephen Langdown and Major Overall, both known for their ability to finish a fight at any given moment in spectacular fashion.

Â

Â

22 year old bantamweight Stephen Langdown has competed in ONE Championship in all 3 of his professional bouts. Born and raised in Singapore, Stephen was discovered by ONE after promoting himself through his training videos and by building an impressive brand for himself through social media.

Â

Training out of Trifecta Martial Arts and also a successful personal trainer, Stephen’s 4th ONE fight is just around the corner on May 22nd, where he’ll be looking to further raise his stock with another hilight reel stoppage.

Â

On the flip side, 33 year old American featherweight Major Overall has trained and competed internationally, compiling a pro record of 6-1. With 5 first round finishes, Major prides himself on being unpredictable and continuously adding new layers to his arsenal of techniques. His style is a combination of various combat sports and athletic endeavors that truly make him a unique specimen when he enters the cage and competes.
