The 411 on What It’s Like To Be In Your 80’s

Coping with change is difficult, no matter how old you are.

The particular challenge for older adults is the sheer number of changes and transitions that start to occur—including children moving away, the loss of parents, friends, and other loved ones, changes to or the end of your career, declining health, and even loss of independence.

It’s natural to feel those losses. But if that sense of loss is balanced with positive ingredients, you have a formula for staying healthy as you age.

For most people when the conversation around COVID-19 starts, one of the first comments is “Do you even know anybody who has it ?”  Most people you speak to, myself included do not.   Outside of what you see on the news, and out of all my family and friends there have been no cases.

One day while on Facebook, I came across a testimony shared by one of my Facebook friends detailing her brother’s experience with COVID-19.  I have seen a lot of videos and read a lot of stories around this topic, however, this was one of the most detailed recounts of the experience with Covid that I have heard thus far.

I immediately felt a need to share his story.  I reached out to her and asked if her brother would be willing to allow me to interview him on the show and he said yes.
