It seems like everyone is online these days, and even if they are not a follower they are looking to make sure your business is legit.

I’m not on social much myself, actually if it wasn’t for the FB groups I’m in, and the fact that I have to have the personal page to have the business pages I wouldn’t even have a page.

But I do look online when I meet someone quickly to check them out and get a sense of ……maybe validation of what they have shared about themselves or their business.

A business colleague made a comment to me the other day about the fact that we had just under 500 followers for each of our Strut accounts. I thought about that comment for a few minutes and then asked if they minded if I shared a few of my thoughts on that with them and this is what I said that I hope you find value from too:

1. It's not about vanity followers. It's buyers and potential clients who stalk your page that matter.

2. Don't just post to post. Post content of value that inspires.

3. Keep showing up. Consistency is KING in this game.

We are halfway through the year!

We all start the new year strong but by mid-year, most of us have fallen back into old habits.

So I like to do a mid-year review: take some time to reset, look at the past 6 months, check in with what progress I’ve made, and identify what changes I need to make to finish 2021 off strong.

I’m doing that this week.

Let me share with you a few of the questions I ask myself mid-year to reset and finish the year strong.

1. What were your 3 BIGGEST goals this year?

2. Based on your goals, where have you been most consistent with the behavior needed to achieve them?

3. What behaviors do I need to start to achieve my goals by the end of the year?

4. What behaviors do I need to stop?

As I always say it’s easier to correct sooner rather than later...we still have half a year left to reach our 2021 goals and finish the year strong.

This past holiday weekend was a great time for me to reset and take another look at my time management and habits.

I had the time to check-in with myself and my business, and really assess why it’s been so busy for me lately.

All I seem to do is work on my businesses. Which I’m not saying is the best habit in the world but for me I do enjoy working on my business tremendously.

I wanted to share my 3 habits to reset the balance in your life and business:

1. Leave space in your schedule

2. Set aside time blocks for needle-moving and creative activities

3. Schedule personal and family time

I always resonated with that quote. I take my team so seriously and want to share the advice I give to my team to create a great work environment and to increase sales.

Every day is so important. I always ask my team: When you walk into an environment you're bringing your energy with it? Would you buy from you?

Training your team members is an investment: You've gotta teach your team how how to handle your clients how to be the best team members they can be because if your team is not happy how can they provide stellar customer service?

Your team is the front line. Keep your team happy!

How are you touching the 5 Senses of Your Clients?

Sight- What do they see when they walk in?

Smell- What do they smell? Think of the Anthropology story.

Hear- What music are you playing? What mood does it create?

Touch- How do you get the clients to take ownership of the product?

Taste- Do you offer coffee, tea, water?

How do we at Strut touch each of these senses? How are you creating an experience for your clients?

We'll have some work to do on the smell in the store, but otherwise I think we've nailed it.

This past weekend got me thinking about gratitude...It seems to be a buzz word a lot these days, but it really can change a person's mindset.

This past week I went away to Florida to recover from the rough month of April...And while I was away, my store got broken into a third time.

Trying to juggle calling insurance, my mom (who was in town) and my team was overwhelming.

I wanted to share my 3 steps I told my assistant to handle overwhelm:

1. List all of the things you need to get done and pick 3 tasks from the list.

2. Choose 3 tasks that are "needle-movers" or are the most pressing things to get done. Everything else can wait.

3. Pick 1 larger task, and 2 smaller tasks

How are you touching the 5 Senses of Your Clients?

Sight- What do they see when they walk in?

Smell- What do they smell? Think of the Anthropology story.

Hear- What music are you playing? What mood does it create?

Touch- How do you get the clients to take ownership of the product?

Taste- Do you offer coffee, tea, water?

How do we at Strut touch each of these senses? How are you creating an experience for your clients?

We'll have some work to do on the smell in the store, but otherwise I think we've nailed it.
