      <description>Raw vegan runner extraordinaire Tim VanOrden sat down recently with me to discuss his journey with food, how he re-discovered a passion for running that led him to 9 U.S. Masters Trail Championship victories, his holistic approach to life, and his views on competition.  We talk about training, finding the joy in racing &amp; training, the perils of becoming pigeonholed by labels, and the value of compassionate competition.

Tim VanOrden knows all about energy; after he switched to a raw, plant-based diet years ago, he began running and eventually created the resource site Running Raw to provide information about the health benefits of living meat and dairy free.

      <description>Matt Korsky lives in NY with wife and two young girls.  He is a school teacher, and now also a plant-powered coach. We sit down and talk about the journey and the challenges he had to overcome to get to where he is now.  He also joined the Amrita Bars Expert Team this year and we couldn't be happier!

Matt was diagnosed with ADHD in high school, through a plant based diet and exercise he learnt how to manage his disorder and use exercise  as a key component of the ADHD protocol.  We talk about what it means to be the father of two wonderful little girls and take on the Ironman Triathlon training.

We discuss the importance of meditation and daily routine .. if you are running ragged then the tips from Matt can really help you find some solutions to &quot;balance&quot;

We spend a lot of time talking about the steps Matt took to get certified as a Plant-Powered Coach.  Victoria Moran's Main Street Academy  was a huge part of his training, plus some other key resources that he mentions.

We discuss what a typical day looks like and the value of meditation!  I hope you enjoy the discussion and my only ask of you is to leave your thoughts on Itunes and Stitcher and share with others!  #nourishyourpassion

      <description> In this edition of #NourishYourPassion podcast, we had an amazing discussion with Adam Chaim of Plant Trainers.  Adam who is a plant-based advocate and a trainer helping people who wants to transition towards a plant-based lifestyle to achieve one’s health and nutrition goals.  Adam himself has gone thru an amazing transformation on his own to achieve the stage where he is right now. Throughout the podcast he have discuss how back in 2011, he found out that he had tumor in one of his kidneys.  It turned out to be benign biopsy but lead to the probability of him having a disease called Von-Hippel Landau,  a genetic disorder which is characterized by the formation of tumors in different parts of the body, both cancerous and non-cancerous. He was told by his doctors that he wouldn’t live past 40.  Seeing his young son and wife (who was pregnant at that time) he took this as an inspiration to make significant changes for his life.  He started switching to a plant-based diet which not only made him healthier but also improves his energy and outlook in life.

Later, he decided to get intotriathlons and pushed himself into making this come true. Around May last year, he has completed the Iron Man Texas which has been a goal of his for a long time. With the help of the support from his family, he is currently on the path in completing his new goal which is the UltraBaby which is basically a 3-days stage race.  We also discussed the impact of plant-based diet on his training and how it greatly affects his everyday living saying how he felt more energize, having shorter recovery time that also gave him more focus and alertness which leads him in becoming more confident. We discussed how

Adam and his wife have worked with their kids around applying plant-based nutrition to their diet. He gave good advices about it that could be very helpful for those who are struggling with their kids in regards this lifestyle.  Adam is currently trained by a fellow Amrita friend and coach extraordinaire, Brett Blankner.  Brett was one our 1st podcast guest.  Adam definitely took the bulls to his horns for his massive transformation.  Please take the time to listen to the podcast and my one ask of you is give us a review in Itunes

      <description>Over the years, Brett Blanker has spent more time in my ears than anyone else on my long solo rides.  His podcasts are really long and seriously awesome.  Brett is the founder and producer of the longest running podcast on the net: Zen and the Art of Triathlon. Brett is USAT Certified Coach and is on a quest for never ending information regarding triathlon training to help his athletes get to the finish line as fast as they can. You can follow him on Twitter @zentriathlon or listen to his podcast @ www.zentriathlon.com.    Brett is the definition of an Ultra Endurance athlete as he is the first Texan to swim the length of Lake Tahoe (1 mile longer than the English Channel), 100 mile trail run finisher, 7 Ironmans, and much, much more.

We spend a lot of time talking about how Brett has stayed true to his mission with podcasting, triathlon racing and coaching.  There are some incredible nuggets of zen wisdom throughout the discussion.  We learn that importance of how simplicity leads to happiness. We talk a lot of training and his philosophy on training.  Ofcourse we discuss nutrition.  I hope you enjoy the podcast!</description>
