I think a person has come to a great place in their life when they become less focused on themselves and more focused on God. They want to look into HIS EYES daily and journey through the ups and downs of life, the days, with their hand in HIS. So much of life is spent in the "valleys". God sit's with us in those times. It seems life is more "valleys" than "peaks". That is ok. It is life. What matters is in life, whether we are in the "valley", climbing to some "peak", or at the "top" we have our hand in HIS, we focus on HIM, and move through our days, our journey, with a gratitude, a peace, a confidence, a love that makes us able to serve and love others and love ourselves. It is a place that no matter what life may bring, what may happen in your day, you will be ok because God is with you and God is good. He becomes your daily guide. He becomes your "walking" partner each and every day. He becomes the one most desired to be with in the morning, at night, and throughout the day. You begin to desire more of Him than you do things of this world. You begin to like much more of who you are with Him than who you are without and because of that you focus less on you and begin to focus on Him. It can sometimes be hard to see God when we are focused on ourselves.
