Welcome back to another episode of Embodied Wellness Radio! And today, we're flipping the script a bit. Recently, Sarah had the amazing opportunity to be interviewed by someone who we HIGHLY look up to, Wade Lightheart, the President of BiOptimizers, author, and one of the worlds most renowned biohackers, not to mention 3X Canadian National Bodybuilding Champion. Mid way through the interview, Sarah and Wade get into a passionate conversation about talking about women's health in relationships, how to speak to a partner about it, and much more! We always talk about aspiring to sit at the table with the greats who we look up to, so we couldn't be more proud of this opportunity.

Today's podcast is also available on the Embodied Wellness YouTube, or on the BiOptimizers Instagram in the IGTV section. Now the audio quality isn't the regular studio quality that what you're all accustomed too on our show, but we know you'll still enjoy the interview nonetheless.

Each day we're influenced by what we see, and eventually it's what we begin to identify as "normal". Both Sarah and I have worked with clients that have come to us saying "How come I can't look like that person, they always look so good!" or "how come I can't get leaner faster? This person got shredded in 6 weeks!". But unfortunately social media isn't reality, and as someone who owns a photography and creative design business, believe me when I tell you that it's far too easy to manipulate and adjust a photo or video to display the most marketable aspects of a person or business. So I was recently speaking with my friend, todays guest, on some of the realities of being a fitness model, and we decided that it was time to inject some truth and reality into the ecosystem of health and wellness.

On todays episode we speak with IFBB Pro, model, and influencer Tessa Barresi! Tessa is one of the youngest IFBB pro's ever, has worked with companies such as GymShark, is currently an EHP Labs athlete, but recently has taken a bit of a turn in the way she sees the fitness industry...and THAT is what we are here to talk about today!

Many toxins exist in our environment, from car exhaust, industrial pollution, chemical fertilizers, the list goes on. Much of that is only in our control if our nation stands up against these planet deteriorating practices. However, we can start small, such as in our very own home! You'd be surprised how many chemicals and carcinogens exist in common every day home products that contribute to the overall deterioration of human health as we know it. But that shouldn't be sad or scary, it's empowering! It's empowering to know that we can begin to make small changes in our homes to ensure the health our us and our loved ones who we rely on to make change in future generations.

On todays podcast we speak with Lindsey Graham.

Lindsey is a momma, wife , former dental hygienist and essential oil educator.
Lindsey helps people reduce their toxic load , elevate their health, learn how to swap out everyday products to more natural plant based options, and empower themselves again when it comes to their health. She loves teaching people about the magic of essential oils and how they are such a supportive tool to help our bodies return to a state of homeostasis.

Welcome to Embodied Wellness Radio, a podcast framed around MAKING WOMEN HEALTHY AGAIN. We specialize in educating women on optimizing their health through fitness, nutrition, mindset, & SO MUCH MORE!

Mushrooms have profound healing benefits, and it seems the world is beginning to see the benefits these powerful fungi have to offer! We talk mushroom supplementation, why not all supplements are made the same, ethics in the supplement industry, the basics of some of our favorite mushrooms, and much more!

Today we welcome to the show Alex Rabu, founder of Urban Mana!

As a business performance coach responsible for a team of 18 young entrepreneurs and more than $7,000,000 in revenue, Alex was struggling to find the energy he needed and caffeine wasn't doing it. He quickly became interested in medicinal plants & mushrooms and it sparked a journey which led to him to founding Urban Mana, a company focused on helping people to raise their state through different modalities. Their first product "Urban Mana ENERGY" is an answer to the current demand for performance-enhancing all-natural health supplements and the distinct lack of quality being offered by the biggest companies on the market.

We can't speak highly enough of today's guest! Michael was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder when he was 18 years old, and after years and years of western medicine, including surgery, was left feeling helpless. We as humans are wise enough to have these internal cues that allow us to hone into what our bodies need at any given time. However, we also are smart enough to be able to believe the falsehoods we tell ourselves, so long as it serves our self interests. And often times, our internal cues are merely justified by physiological responses that have been altered by our diet, circadian rhythm, mood & other variables.
Today we talk about mindful eating, intuitive eating, the differences between them, how to integrate each into your daily practice, and so much more!

Welcome to Embodied Wellness Radio, a podcast framed around MAKING WOMEN HEALTHY AGAIN. We specialize in educating women on optimizing their health through fitness, nutrition, mindset.

On todays podcast we brought on Dr. Calvin Crichton to speak about the history and some basics of TCM, and it's relation to female health and fertility.

When Calvin was in his early 20’s he was introduced to the wonders of Chinese medicine as an international athlete in Karate. Performing at a high level was hard on body and mind alike.

As such, Chinese medicine and acupuncture became a staple in his life to treat joint pain, stress, insomnia and headaches. As time passed competitions faded and a desire to understand human health took root. Through the 2000s to present Calvin has gained substantial education.

His training consisted of a 2000+ hour acupressure program, two acupuncture programs and two Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine programs. Beyond that he did a PH D equivalency in the ancient Japanese medicine art known as Isshinho. Since that time he has taught from coast to cost in three different TCM schools and numerous association events. Also, he has been either president or board member of three different TCM associations on the East Coast.

Calvin's extensive educational background is reflected in his treatment presentations that usually consist of acupressure (finger pressure and massage techniques), medicinal ointments, hot towel applications, hot stone therapy, auricular therapy, acupuncture, cupping, energetic treatments and the dispensing of Chinese medicinals. He presently practices in Vancouver at Qi Integrated Health

With these healing modalities combined, treatments come across to patient’s as ‘spa-like’. This realization helps to affirm Calvin’s healing philosophy of “Healing should be a pleasant experience not more trauma”.
