There’s a Korean horror movie called Salmokji that completely exploded at the box office.

According to Korean media reports, Salmokji shot straight to the top of the Korean box office almost immediately after release, pulling in millions of viewers within just days.

The reservoir featured in the story — Salmokji Reservoir in Yesan County, South Chungcheong Province — already had a reputation long before the movie existed. Local residents and fishermen have apparently considered the area haunted for years.

There’s even an unwritten rule around the reservoir: don’t stay there past 10 PM. Not because of crime or animals. But because people believe something is there.

And tonight… we’re talking about the urban legend that supposedly inspired the film. A story involving a woman driving home late at night, a GPS that tried to lead her into the water, phone calls that shouldn’t have been possible, the missing time, and more.

This is the terrifying legend of Salmokji.

There’s something deeply unsettling about cult stories.
Because most of us imagine cult victims as isolated, vulnerable people living completely outside normal society.
But then cases like this happen.
A successful Hollywood actress.
Famous. Rich. Beautiful. Admired by millions.
And somehow… she ended up inside one of the most disturbing cult organizations in modern America.
Not just as a member.
As a recruiter.
An enforcer.
A woman accused of helping psychologically trap other women into a secret group where they were starved, controlled, blackmailed, and branded.
And the craziest part?
If you watched TV in the early 2000s… you probably saw her every week.

Crimes committed by strangers? Common.
But crimes committed by family?
Those hit differently.
Because when danger comes from inside the house… from someone who has eaten at your table, someone you hugged, someone you trusted… it destroys something deeper than just safety. It destroys the idea that home is supposed to protect you.
And this case from Indonesia feels exactly like that.
A 60-year-old grandmother opened her front door to what looked like a normal family visit. Her former daughter-in-law smiled at her… shook her hand… even kissed it respectfully like a loving child visiting an elder.
Minutes later, she was beaten to death inside her own home.
And what makes this story even colder… is what happened afterward.

There’s something uniquely horrifying about hearing a scream in the middle of the night.
Not yelling. Not arguing.
A scream.
The kind that makes your stomach drop before your brain even understands why.
And in one of Seoul’s wealthiest neighborhoods... that scream was followed by a sound that one witness said he’ll probably never forget for the rest of his life.
A heavy thud.
At first, he thought maybe someone dropped furniture from a balcony.
Maybe construction debris.
Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him.
But when he stepped outside his apartment building, he saw a young woman lying motionless on the pavement.
Twenty-one floors below her home.
And what initially looked like a tragic suicide… quickly became something much darker.

Usually when we talk about serial killers, people imagine someone older.
Someone hardened by decades of violence.
Someone with a long criminal history.
Someone who looks dangerous.
But sometimes evil shows up wearing the face of someone barely old enough to drink.
But this story isn’t about a masked stranger lurking in alleyways.
It’s about Instagram DMs.
Motels.
Late-night drinking.
Casual hookups.
The kind of situations millions of people walk into every single weekend without a second thought.
And somewhere inside all of that normality… there was a girl quietly experimenting on human beings.

There are some murders where you can at least understand the motive. Not justify it. Never justify it. But understand it.

Jealousy. Revenge. Money. Rage. Those motives are horrifying… but human.

But every once in a while, a case appears that feels completely disconnected from normal human emotion. A case where the motive is so cold, so empty, that it almost makes your brain reject it.

Because what do you even do with someone who kills… out of curiosity?
Not because they hated the victim.
Not because they were abused by them.
Not because they wanted money.

But because they wanted to know what murder felt like.
I think that’s one of the scariest motives imaginable.

I want you to imagine... being 11 years old, walking home from school in what’s supposed to be one of the safest countries in the world. You’re thinking about homework, maybe video games, maybe what your mom cooked for dinner.

And somewhere nearby… a 14-year-old boy is fantasizing about murder.

Not robbery. Not revenge. Not anger.
Murder for curiosity and excitement.

What’s terrifying is nobody around him truly realized how dangerous he already was. Because before he killed a child, he practiced on animals. And before he became one of Japan’s most infamous juvenile killers, he was just a quiet kid blending into the background.

This is the story of the Kobe Child Murders.
The case of “Sakakibara Seito.”

No wind. No voices. Nothing.
And then suddenly… A woman’s voice.

Soft at first.
“...Ichimai.”
One plate.
“Nimai.”
Two plates.
“Sanmai…”
Three plates.
The voice keeps counting slowly… calmly… almost mechanically.

And then silence. Not peaceful silence either. The kind of silence where your stomach drops because you know something is wrong.

And then…
Crying.

Deep, heartbreaking sobbing coming from inside a dark well.

There are haunted places, and then there’s Japan.

The roads nobody wants to drive alone at night. The tunnels taxi drivers avoid. The forests where people disappear. The abandoned villages where even ghost hunters panic halfway through filming and leave.

After reading these stories… I genuinely don’t think I could visit some of these locations alone. Like no joke, some of these stories gave me actual chills while researching them.

So tonight, let’s go through some of Japan’s most terrifying haunted locations. And trust me… they only get darker as we go.

Do you know what’s scarier than ghosts?
Finding out the “ghost” was actually real.

Because at least with paranormal stories, there’s still this little comfort in your brain that says, okay… maybe it’s fake. Maybe it’s just imagination. Maybe somebody made it up for attention. Maybe it’s just another creepy internet story.

But some urban legends start with real police reports.
Real missing people.
Real deaths.
Real witnesses.

And sometimes, the truth ends up being way more disturbing than the myth itself.

Tonight’s stories are exactly that.

After Buyung’s mother died in 2010, Buyung started participating more deeply in occult rituals. Bathing in water collected from seven springs mixed with seven flowers. Spiritual cleansing rituals. Fasting. Mystical practices.

To most people, that sounds bizarre. But for him, it was normal life. Eventually, Buyung became obsessed with the idea of inheriting his father’s powers. And this, where everything started to go wrong...

And then suddenly…

A young mother freezes in the middle of the road.

Her fingers slowly bend backward in ways fingers are not supposed to bend.

Her teeth start grinding so loudly that people nearby can hear it.

And the baby in her arms starts screaming.

But a few months later… she dies.

Her family prepares her funeral.

Then 45 minutes later…

She wakes up.

However, she's no longer herself...

The Oscars are supposed to represent perfection.
Perfect outfits. Perfect speeches. Perfect smiles.
Hollywood’s biggest night.

But honestly, what makes the Oscars unforgettable isn’t the perfection.
It’s when the mask slips.

Because every once in a while, something happens live on stage that completely destroys the illusion.

A slap. A protest. A robbery. A mistake so massive it changes television history forever.

Genuinely, do you believe there are intelligent beings somewhere out there?
Watching us? Studying us? Maybe even visiting us?

A lot of people think belief in aliens started with modern sci-fi movies.
But actually… humans have been wondering about life beyond Earth since ancient times.
Even Ancient Greek philosophers talked about it.

We are going to talk about the conspiracy theories, the government cover-up, the abductions and all things aliens you need to know.

Imagine this.
You are asleep in your own home. In the same house where you raised your children.
The same house where you trusted the man sleeping beside you.
You drink tea. You start feeling dizzy. Heavy. Your body slowly shuts down.
And when you finally wake up… you can’t move.
It’s dark. There’s wood above your face.
Barely any air.
Your hands are clawing at the walls.
You scream, but nobody can hear you.
And the person who put you there is... someone that you trust.
