Hunter chats about the history of the Lander Art District, which is comprised of the blocks in the Main Street/Lincoln Street/2nd Street/3rd Street areas, and gives us details about the 6th Annual Lander Art District Street Fair, taking place June 6 from 10 AM to 3 PM. Vincent said that the LOR Foundation has funded about 500 projects during its six years in Lander, with about $3.5M in funds raised total.

Vincent added that the last day for grant-making/check-giving is June 30 (with project pitches due by June 15), and to celebrate LOR’s time here in Lander, it will host a community celebration on May 9 at 5:30 PM at the community center.

McCart is the Native American Liaison for FCSD #1 Lander Schools, and she once again set up writing classes at Lander schools, taught by Black, an LVHS graduate and member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe.

Black is currently a professor teaching writing classes at the University of Memphis, and when County 10 last caught up with him, he had just been announced as one of the artists chosen for the Denver Art Museum’s 2026 Native Arts Artist-in-Residency Program. (Black shared during the interview that the residency will officially begin August 1, 2026, and will last for two years.)

Even though he is staying busy as a professor and professional artist, Black still made time to stop by Lander schools and teach the youth about poetry the week before last. Black shared about making those connections with students, provided more details on the residency, and previewed what’s next for him.

Olsen stopped by to chat about this year’s Garden Expo, which will be taking place Saturday, April 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Lander Valley High School (350 Baldwin Creek Road). The expo offers various courses focused on “gardening, backyard living, and outdoor recreation,” as well as family fun like kids’ games and a petting zoo.

Jorden James, a Riverton native, shares his background in kinesiology, physical therapy, and golf, including his experience as a collegiate golfer and coach at Central Wyoming College. Now a Doctor of Physical Therapy with interests in orthopedic rehab, sports rehab, and vestibular rehab, Jorden explains how his Titleist Performance Institute certification helps him assess the physical side of golf performance. Rather than coaching swing mechanics, he looks at mobility, strength, balance, and motor control to identify limitations that may affect performance or increase injury risk for everyone from young golfers to older adults.

Cassey Lynn also brings an important perspective to the episode as she discusses women’s health, especially after pregnancy. It is a helpful reminder that physical therapy can play a major role in recovery, strength, and confidence for women in different stages of life.

From radio and podcasting to storytelling and content creation, it was a fun conversation about what goes on behind the scenes and the many paths a career in media can take. We loved the chance to visit with these students, answer questions, and share a little about what makes this industry so exciting.

We’re thankful to Shoshoni for welcoming us in and giving us the opportunity to connect with students who are curious about communication, creativity, and the power of local stories.

“It’s one of the toughest things I’ve ever had to do as a coach,” Bozner told County 10 about his decision. “Walking away from a program that you love and care about is really tough. It’s been a great ride for three years, sometimes things happen, and you’ve gotta pick family or work.”

Bozner’s teams improved by a single win each of his three seasons. In the ’23-’24 season they’d tally 5 wins. The following year was 6 and in ’25-’26 they picked up 7 victories. Unfortunately they did not attain their ultimate goal of qualifying for the state tournament. The last two seasons the Lady Wolverines fell short of that goal by a single game, going 1-2 at regional tournaments in Rock Springs and Evanston.

Coach “Boz” admitted that he’s been emotional about saying goodbye to the program. “I had a squishy moment, we had our banquet and they got to see my true emotion. You try to be strong, but when it’s time to leave them, you have to put it all in perspective.”

He added that while he’ll miss coaching games, it was the practices, bus rides and team bonding moments he’ll cherish. “The summertime program, the individual work I gave each of these girls. I’ll miss a lot of things actually. I truly love this team, I love these girls, I care about them, I want their lives to be successful.”

The coaching shift this off-season will also be felt at the JV level. Jessalyn Meeks, JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach for the last three seasons also announced she’ll be stepping down.

Over the last few months, Mike and some other community members have gathered to discuss plans for a recreation center they’d like to see in Riverton. He discussed these plans further on the County 10 Sports Podcast (listen below) and vowed to continue to make it a priority, even from a distance.

He told us that he’ll be relocating to Missouri soon. His wife is currently undergoing a series of medical treatments and they’ll be moving closer to a facility in which those treatments are possible. The Bozner’s grandkids also live in the “Show-Me State,” and they’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of their newest this summer.

Brammer, a long-time Fremont County resident and local medical worker, continues to be one of the biggest proponents and fund raisers for the Special Olympics of Wyoming’s annual Jackalope Jump, which he has been doing for over a decade.

The Jackalope Jump is Special O’s statewide fundraiser where teams and single jumpers take a dive into freezing cold waters, often while wearing ridiculous outfits, an aspect Brammer has taken to comical lengths each year.

Clifford runs the Caught the Fire Bug website, which aims to provide wildfire news across the country, largely with employees who have been firefighters themselves, like Clifford. The CTFB mission is to “tell wildfire stories, spread awareness, and educate the public about the wildfires that threaten our landscapes.”

Clifford, who now lives in Riverton, shares his story of moving from structure firefighting to wildland firefighting, and then to wildfire news reporting, for which CTFB was a major contributor during the Wyoming wildfires Fremont County experienced in the summer of 2025.

Additionally, Clifford discusses the other fire mitigation services CTFB provides, what folks should be on the lookout for during the upcoming fire season following a mostly moisture-less Winter, a mini-lesson on what fire containment means, and more.

The 2026 Pig Roast will take place on July 25, and the folks who put the event on every year are already meeting monthly to prepare.

The meetings take place on the third Wednesday of each month, leading up to the roast, where folks interested in helping can get more details. The meetings take place at the Lander VFW Hall, located at 11 Tweed Lane.

Manning stopped by to give us details on the Chamber’s 2026 Fremont County Legislative Preview Luncheon, taking place this Friday, January 23, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Lander Community & Convention Center, where lagislators Sen. Cale Case (R-25), Rep. Lloyd Larsen (R-54), Rep. Ivan Posey (D-33), and Rep. Pepper Ottman (R-34) will be in attendence.

Manning also chats about the Chamber’s Restaurant Week, happening right now, which aims to boost business for local restaurants during what is historically a slow time for sales. To make it extra special, participating restaurants will have some or all of the following price points for menu items:

Delgado is a Wyoming comic based in Casper who performs across the state, and has most recently been making a name for himself as the host of the monthly open mic night at the Rialto Theater in Casper, which has become a premier comedy-specific performance space in Wyoming after reopening in 2024.

Delgado is coming to Riverton’s Bar 10 on Saturday, December 20, for the High Plains Comedy Night that he will be headlining, featuring the Poor Don Haines, and hosted by Coffee Time’s own Vince Tropea. (Click here for tickets.)

The Chamber and Chase Property Management have teamed up for a multi-business Business After Hours, taking place this Thursday, December 18, from 5:30 to 7.

The Business After Hours will feature a poker run for each business at the 535 E Main Street building (and a couple of neighboring buildings), with prizes for the best hand at the end of the night. Businesses include: Sagewest, Farmers Insurance, Connect Speech Therapy, Elevate Rehab, Summit Orthopedics and Spine Institute, and Western Wyoming Medical.

As always, Business After Hours is free, and refreshments will be served.

The breakfast will go from 8 to 11 AM. In addition to a breakfast spread, there will be arts and crafts set up, and parents can take pics of their kiddos with Santa. The event is free, but donations are very much appreciated.

The heart of this conversation is Sound Lab, a hands-on music program that Keegan co-created within Shoshoni schools. The goal is simple but transformative:to give students access to musical exploration…whether through instruments, composing, performing, or producing. They also aim to provide a creative outlet many rural students don’t often get.

On December 11th, the Sound Lab program will host a special concert featuring professional musicians as well as student performers who have been developing their skills through the program. This event serves not only as a community celebration of young talent, but also as a fundraiser to help expand the program by purchasing instruments, equipment, and materials.

Another special part of this event is the partnership with the Shoshoni High School Boys Wrestling Team, who will be preparing the dinner served at the concert. A portion of the evening’s admission proceeds will also go toward supporting the wrestling team!

Harrison is leading the initiative to bring a Wyoming Classical Academy charter school to Riverton, which will be open to students in all of Fremont County.

The Academy is a proposed tuition-free public charter school based on the Hillsdale curriculum, and focuses on “classic books, logic, rhetoric, mathematics, science, and the fine arts, while fostering critical thinking, communication, and character development.” There is currently a Wyoming Classical Academy campus operating in Mills, and one that is set to open in Alpine in the fall of 2026.

Harrison, who runs Smart-Start Quality Child Care in Riverton and operates it under the Montessori model, explained that the goal is to open the Riverton Campus to grades K-6 to start off, then add grades each year after that. The Academy would be tuition-free, with no entrance exams or religious affiliation.

Harrison says the goal is to have a 2027/28 school year opening date, after the program application is submitted to the Wyoming Charter School Board in March of 2026.

Before that application can be submitted, Harrison said they need to have between 150-200 letters of interest. They currently already have over 80 letters. Folks can fill out the letter of interest here. (Note: the letter of interest is not a commitment.)

The weekly free meal in Lander recently moved locations from the Methodist Church parking lot to the Meadowlark Market and Kitchen at 228 Main Street.

(Lander, WY) – ALCHEMY: An Artists’ Cooperative, located at 202 Main Street in Lander, has officially reached the 10-year marker as a Main Street business.

To celebrate this milestone, Alchemy will be hosting a 10th Anniversary Disco Party this Friday, November 7, from 4 to 8 PM. There will be music, drinks (including cocktails with choke-cherry mixers!), and appetizers available for attendees, who are encouraged to wear their best disco outfits.

Folks will also be able to take advantage of a rare 10% discount at the party and during that Friday’s normal business hours, as well as the following day on the 8th.

Alchemy’s normal business hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM.

(Morton, WY) – The Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative will host its annual Buffalo Bash, now in its third year, in conjunction with the 2025 Indigenous Peoples’ Day on October 13.

The event will take place from 5-9 PM at the Initiative headquarters Buffalo Camp (click here for directions), and will once again serve as a fundraiser for the Initiative. You can also donate directly to the Initiative here.

Attendees will get to enjoy a sunset buffalo tour, live music, food, speakers, and traditional games. Folks are also encouraged to bring a dish to share at the feast.

Additionally, the Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative has partnered with the Wyoming Outdoor Council for the Wind River Tribal Conservation Summit, which will also take place on October 13, from 10 AM to 4 PM. The Summit will include various workshops and sessions, and you can pre-register using the QR code below.

Xavier Young from the Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative recently joined the KOVE Coffee Time interview series to chat about the Buffalo Bash and the Conservation Summit. Young, who will also lead the Conservation Summit workshop on buffalo hair cordage, shares his journey working with buffalo and how it aligns with the Initiative’s mission to bring buffalo back to Tribal lands. Zachary is a Northern Arapaho Tribal member who is in the 9th grade at Lander Valley High School, and shares how he came to love Rubik’s Cubes of all shapes (they make 12-sided ones!) and sizes, along with other puzzles as well. Zachary even got in a good burn at Tropea’s expense due to his lack of cubing skills, and handed him a tiny, one-cube “puzzle” while saying, “This is one even you can solve.”

RHS has had a strong start to the season, recently taking first place at an Evanston Invitational and second overall at their home Riverton Invite. This special weekend is all about providing disabled veterans with the chance to connect, heal, and experience the outdoors. Activities include hunting trips, tours of the National Museum of Military Vehicles, and community gatherings that allow veterans to share stories and build bonds.

Pfiferfest is now in its 4th year, and began as a way to continue the legacy of Lander local Matt Pfifer after his passing years ago, and to bring folks together for a great cause.

The event will feature food, music, and good times at the Pioneer Museum on August 23, starting at 1 PM.

“Everything’s new. It’s all foreign to me,” Evan told County 10. “From running routes, to blocking people, to hitting people every play. It’s all been different but it’s been a really fun journey and I’m looking forward to it.”

Evan said he didn’t expect to ever play tight end, but that it’s a good fit, “I’m naturally a big, physical person so it’s been a relatively good transition.”

Svoboda’s commitment to the program was admired by many Pokes fans. In an era where the transfer portal is used regularly, the Cowboy decided to keep playing for the brown and gold after losing his spot as QB1. “I think it’s been instilled in me from a young age, definitely from my parents and my environment. I was given an opportunity to be here so I’m going to make the most of my opportunity.”

We chat about attending concerts this summer, how he’s aiming for improvement on and off the field in year two of his job as head coach, and preparations for the season opener at Akron.

“I’ve loved aviation since I was a kid,” Johnson told County 10 at UW Media Day Monday in Laramie. He explained that he spent much of his off-season flying around Wyoming and Montana, marveling about flying over the Tetons and Big Horn Mountains. “Now, my goal is to become a fighter pilot.” Later joking that his favorite movie is ‘Top Gun.’

While ambitions to become a fighter pilot seem lofty, Andrew has already crossed off his first major life goal. Wearing the brown and gold. “It was my dream since I was a kid. It was everything I ever wanted to do. So when Coach Bohl gave me the opportunity to do so, it was the easiest decision of my life.”

The former Central High wide receiver and defensive back appeared in 11 games for the Pokes and started 5 of them last year. He recorded 19 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles. This season, he’s expected to be a leader on the Cowboy defense. “We’re bringing that toughness back to Wyoming football,” Johnson said about summer camp. “Something that I experienced a lot in my early years here and that’s something we need to maintain and bring into the season.”

The Cowboy has plenty of opportunities to be remembered for a very long time on the football field this year however. He was added to both the Lombardi Award Preseason Watch List, which is given to college football’s best lineman (offense or defense) and the Outland Trophy Preseason Award Watch List, which goes to college football’s best interior lineman.

Walsh is moving from right guard to center this season too, a position he hasn’t played regularly since 8th grade. But Jack’s team-first attitude makes him excited to lead the guys up front. “I wanna be a source for the young guys, someone they can look to and trust to give them good advice, that’s my main goal being an older guy, whatever someone needs help with on or off the field that’s what I’m there for.”

Walsh smiled and told us last few practices have been fun, but exhausting, “It’s been very physical. Coach Sawvel wants to see us play some football, see what guys are made of. But it’s been fun. You have to do those things to get prepared for the season.”

Aaron enters his second year on the job, but has been with UW as a linebackers coach since 2017. He is the son of former Wyoming Head Coach, Craig Bohl.

To sum up summer/fall camp for Wyoming in a word according to Bohl, it’s been physical. “We’ve laid out a clear line this off-season what we need to be like, if you don’t wanna be in that footprint that’s okay there’s other schools for you. We wanted to make sure that the guys were here bought into that message and the guys we were bringing in would buy into that message.”

Kaden Anderson started 3 contests for the Cowboys last year, but appeared in 9 games total. The sophomore threw 6 touchdowns, 3 interceptions and had a 58.3% completion percentage.

Though Anderson is a Texas-native, he’s fitting in well this year in Wyoming. “Nothing better than a summer in Wyoming,” he told County 10. “I love the outdoors, I love fly fishing, caught some really big trout this summer so I was really excited about that.”

And as quickly as he declined to answer where his favorite fishing spots were on mic, he was equally as fast to tell us he’s excited about the Pokes chances this year. “We look really good, high energy, great intensity in practice. I feel like the vibe is different than it was last year.” Expounding that the team is “eager to practice” and that “pads are poppin.'”

Jovon played for the Cowboys from 2002-2005 and racked up over 3,600 receiving yards, placing him as the third best UW receiver in the category (behind only Marcus Harris and Ryan Yarborough.) After graduating, the Denver native began the shift from receiver to mentor. He’s spent time coaching at Marshall, Kentucky, Oregon, Texas Tech and Utah State before returning to Laramie.

“It is a full circle moment as it all started here at the University of Wyoming,” Bouknight told reporters when he first returned. “It is great to be back in the saddle with familiar faces with our student-athletes and coaches that have so much love and passion for this program. I’m ready to hit the ground running and go back to the foundation and fundamentals.”

Coach Bouknight told County 10 at Media Day about some of his favorite memories as a UW athlete, “obviously the Vegas Bowl (2004) sticks out. I was only fortunate to win one Border War, so I think about that one from my sophomore year.”

Jovon said it’s helpful to remember his playing days to instruct this 2025 group of Cowboy receivers, especially when it comes to the eventual cold weather. “It makes us unique, the mental aspect and being mentally tough about it. Understanding that it can play into your favor in late November if you’re prepared for it.”

And the Pokes newest coach says while there’s still some improvement he’d like to see before the August 28th opener at Akron, he’s thrilled with the wide receiver room so far. “It’s been going good. I think the energy is really high, guys are flying around. A couple guys that are new are working some kinks out. For the most part we’re doing really well. The focus the next couple weeks is who’s going to step up and make plays.”

Her book “I Can Fix This: And Other Lies I Told Myself While Parenting My Struggling Child” tells of her journey when her son started experiencing mental health issues in his teens, and how they navigated that process together.

Organized by the Project AWARE program at FCSD #1, Kuzmic will be sharing her story and speaking to folks at Lander schools on Monday, August 18, at 7 PM in the Lander Valley High School auditorium. The presentation is free to all adults in Fremont County.

In addition to chatting about the book and how she made sure her son was a consistent part of the writing process, Kuzmic teases what she will talk about in her upcoming presentation, how she began the Hope and Humor standup tour from last year, the time she won a reality contest with Oprah back in 2011, and much more.

The National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) is celebrating 60 years of inspiring leadership education, culminating in a community gathering in Lander, Wyoming, September 25-27, 2025. The event is an opportunity for the NOLS community to gather, honor the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future. Hundreds of NOLS alumni, guests, and notable outdoor industry leaders are expected to attend the weekend-long gathering.

Registration is now open to sign up for events and activities. The last day to register is Friday, September 5, 2025. Most events are free and may have limited capacity. Each event will indicate the registration guidelines for participation.

Some highlights include a meetup at the Pushroot Brewery on Thursday, September 25, starting at 4:00 pm, with a custom NOLS Legacy Brew on tap.

The following day, on Friday, September 26, the community is invited to hear astronaut, physicist, and former NASA Chief Scientist Dr. John Grunsfeld share his insights about how wilderness leadership training has influenced his life in his talk, “From the Lumberyard to Space: A NOLS/NASA Story” at 10:15 am at the Lander Community and Convention Center.

Later that day, on Friday, September 26, from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, the community is invited to the City Park in Lander for Trail Mix, an outdoor marketplace featuring gear brands, artists, demos, and interactive booths. A BBQ and live music by Lander-based bluegrass musicians Low Water String Band will keep the vibes rolling from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.On Saturday, September 27, Alex Honnold will have a conversation with Peter Metcalf, founder and CEO of Black Diamond Equipment, at the Lander Community Center and Convention Center at 10:00 am. Honnold will share stories of mentorship, the surprising lessons of solo and collaborative expeditions, decision-making in the mountains, and how becoming a father has reshaped his perspective on life, leadership, and legacy.

Also on Saturday, the Film Fest at the Grand Theater will have screenings of outdoor and adventure films starting at 10:00 am and running through 4:00 pm. The film lineup and screening times will be released shortly and available HERE.

The opening ceremonies for the Roast will start at 11 AM on Saturday, with an introduction from the Lander Pipe Band, an opening prayer, and a Quilts of Valor presentation. Pulled pork sandwiches will be given out starting at 12 PM, around the same time as the start of the day’s music offerings, which this year include:

As always, the theme of the annual Pig Roast is mental health and suicide awareness, and there will be a number of resource booths set up in the Park offering information and a listening ear throughout the day.

The Pig Roast began in 2021 as a way to bring the community together following the onset of COVID and uncertain times, and was a passion project of the late Lander Mayor Monte Richardson, who this year’s roast will be in remembrance of.

Anderson concluded her junior year by being named the Gatorade Wyoming High School Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year. She owns the all-class, all-time record in Wyoming high school girls shot put. She’s also the all-time leader in 3A girls discuss.

We chat about her success athletically, as well as in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA. Anderson shares details about future goals, where her motivation comes from, pre-throw superstitions and building comradery with some of her competitors this season.

Wagon is the MMIP Wind River Chairperson and co-coordinator for the now annual MMIP March, which is set to take place in Riverton on May 5, the National Day of Awareness for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW), also known as “Red Day”.

After tragically losing two of her daughters, Jocelyn Watt and Jade Wagon, Wagon has since made it her mission to not only bring awareness to the MMIP cause, but to also make sure people know the names of the people who often become anonymous statistics.

The 2024 Fremont County Start-Up Challenge has officially announced the finalists for the 2024 Pitch Night, which will take place this Tuesday, April 9th in Room 100 of the Health and Sciences Building on the CWC Campus in Riverton.

Finalists/entrepreneurs will pitch their business ideas to judges, and startup money will be awarded to the winners.

The Pitch Night is free and open to the public.

For those who don’t know the long time Fremont County resident and local medical worker, who this host has affectionately dubbed “Mr. Jackalope,” Brammer is one of the biggest proponents and fund raisers for the Special Olympics of Wyoming’s annual Jackalope Jump, and has single handedly raised approximately $15,000 for the cause over his 10+ years of jumping.

The Jackalope Jump is Special O’s statewide fundraiser where teams and single jumpers take a dive into freezing cold waters, often times while wearing ridiculous outfits.

In addition to raising thousands of dollars for Special O, Brammer has taken the dressing up aspect of the Jumps to hilarious levels, and attendees look forward to seeing what type of Jackalope he will dress up as each year.

West, who has directed over 20 productions for Central Wyoming College, is directing CWC’s upcoming production of “Peter Pan: The Musical,” and Hartman will be portraying Mr. Smee.

In addition to Hartman giving us a teaser of some of his character’s dialogue, West shared what will make CWC’s production of “Peter Pan: The Musical” special.

Firstly, this rendition will replace the offensive nonsense words used during the Native American inspired song/dance number between Peter and Tiger Lily that happens after Peter saves them and they become “blood brothers,” with actual words from the Arapaho language.

West reached out to frequent CWC actor/member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe, Ron Howard (whose daughter will be portraying Tiger Lily) and his local teacher friends to help with this endeavor, and the words in that song/scene will now be in Arapaho.

As far as West knows, this is the only production of “Peter Pan: The Musical” that has done something like this.

This will also be the first year that a CWC Peter Pan production will have flying characters, after West reached out to the ZFX Flying Effects troupe, which has worked with all of the major Peter Pan productions across the country, as well as shows like Aladdin, Mary Poppins and many more.

West shared that the flight director and owner of ZFX said this was the first production that he has seen to incorporate a local Tribal language, and that this was his first time doing a show in Wyoming, which make the production even that much more exciting.

The performances will take place at the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theater in Riverton on the following dates:

• Thurs, Fri, Sat, Mar. 14, 15, 16 @ 7 p.m.
• Sun, Mar. 17 @ 2 p.m.
• Mon, Mar. 18 @ 7 p.m.
• Thurs, Fri, Sat, Mar. 21, 22, 23 @ 7 p.m.

While we normally like to keep Coffee Time conversations light and fun, Harris and Jacobsen stopped by this time to go into a serious, in-depth discussion about recent drug use concerns in the school district.

On March 1, Superintendent Harris and the FCSD #1 school board sent out a letter to the community addressing these concerns, after a “drug-related medical event” occurred a few days prior, involving a student on school property.

That incident led to much concern amongst community members, who shared many of those worries on social media, which then prompted the response from the district.

Harris and Jacobsen discuss many aspects of those concerns/questions from the community, ranging from: the number of overdoses for the 2023/24 school year (it should be noted this discussion only references drug related medical events that occurred on school property/during school hours, and does not take into account overdose reports in the home or elsewhere), the school’s emergency response team that handles these incidents when they do occur on school grounds, the laws that prevent the district from disclosing medical information/incident specifics involving minors to the public/media, the types of drugs that are being abused, what the difference between Kratom and the Delta 8/Delta 9 variants are, how students are accessing these drugs, common signs of student drug use, the programs and events the district has developed/coordinated to help bring more awareness to the issue, and what we as a community need to do to come together to address these concerns.

The district will also be hosting a community resource event on April 4 at the community center (exact details are forthcoming), hosted by Melinda Cox, the Community Project Manager for Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education) and SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration).

The Tom Stoppard play follows the popular characters from Shakespeare’s Hamlet on their own voyage, in what is called “an absurdist, existential tragicomedy.”

The play will run from March 12-14 at the Lander Community and Convention Center at 7:00 PM each night, and is free to the public.

Susanka, who was last on Coffee Time as an LVHS performer in Fiddler on the Roof, shares how he got into the performing arts, and what folks can expect from the College’s version of the play.

Responder Alliance is a group that “works with teams to build individual and organizational resilience in the face of long-term and traumatic stress,” and aims to protect individuals from “stress injury and burnout,” specifically those in law enforcement, medical and search/rescue fields.

Responder Alliance will be holding a free training course this Saturday, March 2, in Lander from 9am-1pm in the Frontier Ambulance Training room, which will cover incident support for traumatic stress.

Butterfield stopped by to chat about CWRA’s strong showing for 2023 after they finished the year with 15,375 emplacements, the 4th highest year since 2002.

Koch and Brust stopped by to talk about the upcoming HeARTs Unleashed exhibition taking place at the LAC from February 9 through March 8.

The exhibition is a 50/50 fundraiser for both the LAC and the LPC, and will kick off with an opening reception at the LAC on February 8 from 6-8:00 PM.

In addition to opening night, there will be other events taking place like an adoption day on February 14, and the “Strut Your Mutt” fashion show on February 24 from 1-4:00 PM.

LMS will be hosting all of the participating middle school ski teams from around the state at the January 27 tournament this weekend, totalling over 200 student skiers along with their coaches and families.

Folks can cheer the Sabers on at the tournament around 1:00 PM, which takes place at the Lander Golf Course, and there will even be a chance for Elementary aged kids to take part in races before the tournament officially kicks off.

Wilson shared that according to census data, there are “at least eight people in our (Lander) community who are in need of some kind of shelter on any given night, and that number expands to at least 44 in Fremont County, if not a little bit more.”

After meeting with other community partners to identify needs in our area and realizing the only current option for temporary shelter is the warming huts, Wilson decided that something needed to be done about procuring a location to provide shelter for those in need.

Wilson recently bid on a 2578 square foot house located on the 100 block of Lincoln Street, which he says can house up to eight people who are “homeless or housing insecure in our community,” and hopes that the home will be a hub of resources for those in need.

Wilson said he wants to name the house ‘St. Francis House,’ stating, “He’s one of my favorite figures in history who really gave up everything he had to serve the poor and vulnerable people in his community.”

Wilson clarified that despite the name, the St. Francis House won’t have a religious association, but is just in honor of “his outpouring of love to everybody from every religious tradition or denomination.”

“This is about providing people a roof over their head so they can focus on finding work, medical care, psychiatric care, social services, or whatever other kind of support they need to get back on their feet and secure more permanent housing,” Wilson also explains on the GoFundMe page.

Scoutmaster Ron Phillips and committee chair Janine Turnington were joined by two local scouts, Caleb Peeks and Cody Phillips, who recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

We were able to chat with Caleb and Cody about the achievement in studio after attending their Eagle Scout neckerchief recognition during the troop’s Christmas party at the Rock Church last month.

Caleb and Cody shared what their journey was like leading up to obtaining the Eagle rank, some of their favorite (and least favorite) badges they earned, and how being in scouts has been a beneficial part of their lives.

In addition to hearing from the Eagle Scouts, Ron and Janine shared the background on our local troop, which is the only Boy Scout troop left in Fremont County (Caleb is from Riverton and commutes to all of the events/meetings).

Ron and Janine hope to get the word out and get more people from all over the County involved with the Lander Scouts BSA Troop 52, in hopes to keep the interest going for future generations, so be sure to tune in to the full Coffee Time interview below find out how you can get involved!
